The Find an apprenticeship digital service has been helping people search and apply for apprenticeships online since December 2014.
We have now passed our live assessment, giving us the green light to go fully live with the Service.
GDS have made a short film about it:
A transcript of the video is available.
Achievements so far
There have been plenty of achievements and it feels a good time to highlight a few.
Our users are benefiting from our continuous delivery. At each stage of development we have worked with our users, understanding their needs, and ensuring this leads the service.
During public beta we released over 30 updates with new functionality and improvements. In comparison, our existing service had a twice-yearly release schedule.
We’re also getting a clearer idea of the savings we’ll make when we close our existing service. Running the service with an in-house multidisciplinary team compared with our existing outsourced service will make a significant difference.
Going live with the service
We aim to switch off the search and apply function in Apprenticeship vacancies (Av) in May 2015. We’ll redirect Av users to Find an apprenticeship and encourage them to create a new account. In the meantime we will continue to work closely with candidates, careers advisors and providers to ensure that no one gets lost or disorientated.
