Delivery Manager diary: I got the job

Posted by: , Posted on: - Categories: Agile, Delivery Management, Jobs and careers

Back in January, I started a secondment as a Delivery Manager. Here’s a little note to update you all on my progress. I know I haven’t blogged in little while, there was a period of purdah and some personal holiday but now I’m back. My secondment has ended and I've been offered, and taken up, a permanent position as a Delivery Manager.

It’s been a steep learning curve over the past five months but very enjoyable.

I have gained a lot of experience working with a good Agile team and senior Delivery Managers within the organisation.  I also gained the Certified Agile Tester qualification.  I will be shortly working towards the Certified Scrum Master qualification also.

It’s now time for me to establish myself within the role, figure out good working practices within Agile and encourage, implement, coach and generally work to be a champion for Agile and Delivery Management across the agency.

I find it very enjoyable and satisfactory being involved in the new ways of working and improving working processes for the Agency.

I would like to thank all those that have helped me over the past five months and also encourage anyone who wishes to try something a little different or those wanting to advance their career that secondments are ideal and can work well within the civil service. I have found that support always seems to be there.

I shall do my best to log regularly again and continue to share my progress and experiences.

Our team is growing, and we're currently looking for Delivery Managers to join our team.
