Pre-election period

Between 30 March and the general election on 7 May, the Civil Service is in "purdah", the pre-election period. During this time the Civil Service communicates less, in line with the General Election Guidance.

So you now won’t be hearing much from us in the five weeks up to the election, unless it’s to provide information essential to continuing the government’s day-to-day work. That applies to @SFADigital on Twitter and this blog.

That doesn’t mean we’re not doing anything. Our work will continue through the pre-election period. We just won’t be talking about it much in the run-up to the election.

There will however be updates and announcements made as a new government forms. These can be found at:

If you haven't already, don't forget to register to vote. You can do it online and it takes about three minutes.

Like our find an apprenticeship service, the register to vote  service is one of the 25 exemplar digital projects.
